First Family Church is guided by a set of core principles that have been in place since the church was first established- principles that reflect such important values as integrity, accountability and responsible stewardship. These principles guide the actions of the senior pastor and the pastoral staff, the board of directors, and all ministry leaders.
Biblical Authority
First Family Church recognizes the Bible as the final authority and preaches the truth of God’s Word without compromise regardless of popularity or public opinion. First Family exists to be “salt and light,” stand for family as one man for one woman, protect the sanctity of human life and evangelize the lost.
Single-minded Purpose
The mission of First Family Church is to reach lost people, bring them into God’s family, and inspire them to mature in Christ. FFC responds in obedience to the Great Commission by training and equipping members to serve as witnesses in their homes and communities and by launching or supporting other local, national or global ministries designed to impact lives for Jesus Christ.
Integrity and Accountability
First Family Church is governed by a board of directors and led by founder and senior pastor Jerry Johnston. Its ministries are implemented by associate pastors, church staff, and dedicated volunteers. Decisions are made after first seeking God’s wisdom through prayer and then evaluating each opportunity in accordance with the church’s mission, statement of faith, and guiding principles.
Servant-oriented Authenticity
First Family Church, its staff and lay leaders are committed to discipleship- ministering to individuals and families by sharing the love of God, fostering caring relationships and creating opportunities for authentic Christian fellowship.
Commitment to Stewardship
First Family Church acknowledges that all resources are a gift from God. The board of directors maintains vigilance over financial decisions and has implemented stewardship standards that are audited annually for compliance and accountability. All compensation is based on independent regional comparability studies, and our Senior Pastor is excluded from decisions relating to his own compensation. Audits are conducted in compliance with the IRS guidelines and performed annually by Guinn, Smith and Co., an independent accounting firm specializing in church financial stewardship. Financial information is made available to faithful tithing members of the church via the church’s website at www.ffc.org. |
